The note can provide an author&#8217;s comments on the main text or&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Citation\">citations<\/a>&nbsp;of reference work in support of the text. <\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Footnotes are notes placed at the bottom of a page. They cite references or comment on a designated part of the text above it. For example, say you want to add an interesting comment to a sentence you have written, but the comment is not directly related to the argument of your paragraph. In this case, you could add the symbol for a footnote.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Footnote Tools in Docy<\/h2>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>You can mention the information reference\/resource at the end of the Documentation article with Docy&#8217;s Footnote tool. See the Footnote in action-<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Define Footnotes<\/h2>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>At the first step, you have to define the Footnotes in the article with the <code>[reference number=\"\"]<\/code> shortcode. Enter the number of the Footnote in the <strong>number<\/strong> attribute value. Every Footnote numbers should be unique as like ID. <\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Creating Footnote with Docy<\/h2>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>You can easily create multi-column Footnotes with Docy. The below steps explains how to create the&nbsp;<strong>Footnotes<\/strong>&nbsp;section for your website articles.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Go to the Page Edit <\/li><li>Mark the <strong>Footnote<\/strong> switcher to <strong>Yes<\/strong> from <strong><em>Options :: Doc &gt; Page Settings &gt; Footnote<\/em><\/strong> to enable the Footnotes features for that page.<\/li><\/ol>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><a href=\"https:\/\/docs.creativegigs.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/image-1.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/docs.creativegigs.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/image-1.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2952\"\/><\/a><\/figure>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" start=\"3\"><li>Then the Footnote Options will appear in the <strong>Options :: Doc<\/strong> meta box.
